O trabalho de telemarketing exige para esses dois segmentos; boa dicção para atender satisfatoriamente o cliente, bons modos ao telefone, cordialidade, paciência, além de saber trabalhar em equipe. 
Outra dica é habituar-se a trabalhar com auxílio de script telemarketing, este recurso é mais utilizado no telemarketing ativo. Trata-se de uma lista de perguntas e passos necessários para efetuar corretamente a venda para o cliente, prevendo inclusive as possíveis dúvidas do mesmo.
No entanto esse recurso é bom também para o operador de telemarketing receptivo pois há uma sequencia lógica para efetuar um processo que pode ser complexo, desta forma ele não se esquece de nenhum passo importante e dinamiza o trabalho podendo atender mais clientes.
